ROHACELL® IG-F Polymethacrylimide Foam
ROHACELL® IG-F is a closed-cell rigid foams based on polymathacrylimide (PMI) chemistry, which do not contain any CFC's.
ROHACELL® IG-F is a foam grade with a finer cell structure but the same mechanical and thermal properties as ROHACELL® IG. Because of the smaller size of its cells, ROHACELL® IG-F takes up less resin at the surface, where the cells have been cut open.
ROHACELL® IG-F is particularly suitable for prepreg processing, but can also be used in, for example, resin infusion and RTM processes up to temperatures of 130°C and pressures of 0.3 MPa.
The thermo-formability of ROHACELL® provides a tremendous manufacturing advantage.
ROHACELL® IG-F are also easy to shape by machining.

ROHACELL 51 is a low density grade and a very high strength:weight ratio.
General ROHACELL Information: ROHACELL is a closed-cell rigid expanded plastic material for lightweight sandwich construction. It has excellent mechanical properties, high dimensional stability under heat, solvent resistance and, particularly at low temperature, a low thermal conductivity. The strength and moduli values are the highest for any foamed plastic in its density range. ROHACELL is manufactured by hot forming of methacrylic acid/methacrylonitrile copolymer sheets. During foaming this copolymer is converted to polymethacrylimide.
